Mallow

If you know the hibiscus flower or hollyhock, then you can recognize a Mallow plant. The only difference is its broad leaves.

Identification

The leaves are round and distinct. The flowers and seed pods are small and round, often blurred by the leaves. Mallow has a funnel-shaped flower with five petals and a unique column of stamens surrounding the pistil.

The fruits are round and have cheese-like wedges. The stems are flexible and come from a central point, lounging on the ground.

The stem originates from a deep taproot and is low spreading with branches that can be up to 60cm long.
